ABOUT
ABOUT ME
I was born in Patras, Greece in 1984. In 2002 I moved to Athens, Greece in order to study Theatre. I graduated in 2007 and from 2008 up to 2010 I lived in London, England studying for my MA, granted by the Alexandros Onassis Foundation. In 2010, I moved back to Athens where I lived, studied, and worked up to 2018. I obtained a Ph.D. in Education from the N.K.U.A. in 2020, granted by IKY. Now I am based in Swansea, Wales, and I work as a Research Officer for FIRE Lab, at Swansea University's College of Science.
WHAT I'VE STUDIED
2020: Ph.D. Education, "Installation Art and its role in Science Education", Department of Early Childhood Education, National Kapodestrian University of Athens.
2008-2009: MA Fine Arts, "Visual Language of Performance", Wimbledon Colledge of the Arts, University of the Arts London.
2002-2007: BA Theatre, Department of Theatre Studies, Faculty of Philosophy, National Kapodestrian University of Athens.
WHAT I DO
From 2006 I work actively as an artist. My first steps were taken with the A.Z.E.R.T. performance group (2006-2008) where I worked as a set and costume designer. In 2008 I started my career as a Visual Designer (concept/direction/set/costume) and later in 2012 I co-founded the Atomic No6 performance group. Within the years I have also worked independently as a Visual Artist, as an Artistic Consultant, and as an Educator. Currently, I work as Research Officer for Swansea University's FIRE Lab, where I focus on science communication and engagement through the arts.
PORTFOLIO

Underwater Words I & II is a digital diptych consisting of two independent videos, sharing one screen. The videos complement each other, and each is a unique presentation of the haiku lines both as written by the co-creators and reassembled by poet Asha Sahni along with a series of visual and audio fragments. The concept behind its creation is based on collective thinking and the ability of our brains to recognise the aesthetic value of a surrealistic work. Created October 2020

Jac's River Adventure is an e-book and video created by FIRE Lab aiming to enrich young people's knowledge about fresh water ecosystems.

Underwater Words is a video inspired by Underwater Haiku, a co-creation project and collaboration established by FIRE Lab and poet Asha Sahni. 106 people have contributed with their words to the Lab's activity, 'Underwater Haiku Exquisite Corpse' and created the video's haiku.
